WHEN TO USE THIS DOCUMENT
These terms and conditions are suitable for use in England, Wales and Scotland by a website designer when providing website design and hosting services to customers. It does not matter whether the customer is a businesses or a person (consumers).
The agreement allows a website designer to set out the standard terms on which they will provide work to the customer. For the terms and conditions to be effective the website designer must attach them to the proposal or can put them on the reverse of the proposal. Whichever way, the customer should be aware of the website designer’s terms and conditions before agreeing to the proposal so that they become part of the agreement between the website designer and the customer.
The terms and conditions can also be used for electronic purchases using electronic signatures, tick box or agreement by e-mail etc. However the website designer must still supply the terms and conditions and proposal to the customer before the order is finalised. The terms provide for a customer who may have rights under Distance Selling Regulations to waive those rights unless the website designer agrees otherwise.
The terms and conditions sets all the usual clauses for website design and web hosting when offered together. It allows you to deal with bandwidth and storage maximums but also provides the basis for Acceptable use
